Welcome to this month’s Positive Trio which celebrates three things we enjoyed in wrestling during November. This month’s selection is heavily dominated by War Games with both the men’s and women’s matches being full of action and storyline advancement. Alongside this we have a bit of nostalgia as GCW headed to a shopping mall.

The men’s War Games match was much anticipated as the ‘New Bloodline’ took on the OG’s and Paul Heyman’s old friend CM Punk.

The action was one thing with memorable moments such as the Bronson Reed Tsunami from the top of the cage and the great finish where Solo Sikoa was left in a five on one situation.

The thing that made this match really special was the interactions between CM Punk and Roman Reigns. Roman initially stopped Punk from existing the holding cage at the three spot, letting Sami Zayn go instead. Punk then pushed passed Roman to enter next.

Interactions during the match followed but the two of them were on the same page. The celebration at the end though was interesting as Jey Uso, Jimmy Uso, Sami and Roman celebrated with an arm in the air. Punk was standing behind them and pushed in front of Roman doing his ‘Go To Sleep’ gesture.

GCW is one of the most consistently enjoyable promotions and their venture to the American Dream Mall added a special look and feel to the show with vibes of the first WCW Nitro.

The show started in a nostalgic fashion with Hall of Famers Kurt Angle and Mick Foley in the ring. They were interrupted by Blue Pain (formerly known as Blue Kane) and his ring music Blue (Da Ba Dee) by Eiffel 65.

Pain went to attack Angle but Foley made the save locking in the Mandible Claw. Such a fun and entertaining segment and a great way to start one of GCW’s best shows of the year.

The women’s War Games match is our final selection for the month. As with the much missed old style Survivor Series matches there thrive when multiple feuds come together.

In this match we saw the continued feud between Rhea Ripley and Liv Morgan and a number of contenders chasing the Smackdown Women’s championship.

There were some great high spots involving Candice LeRae and the Iyo Sky purple trashcan moonsault spot from the top of the cage. Although she has now done this on a number of occasions, it never fails to impress.

We had throwbacks to the partial breakup of Damage Control when Iyo and Bayley almost came to blows. Tiffany Stratton teased cashing in the Money in the Bank briefcase on both Liv and Nia.

A match with great in ring action and lots of intrigue was a perfect way to start Survivor Series.
