Summer is here and the time is right for enjoying some big wrestling shows as SummerSlam and Forbidden Door make up this month’s Positive Trio.

The first ever two night SummerSlam saw two fantastic main events. It was a difficult decision but only one of them made this month’s Trio. Cody Rhodes and John Cena delivered an incredible match which was the complete opposite to their match at WrestleMania. It wasn’t enough though to surpass the moment where CM Punk became a World Champion in WWE.
As a long time Punk fan, this was a moment, I never thought would happen but after a gruelling match with Gunther, Punk held the title aloft. The moment was short lived, however, as we found out Seth Rollins had been faking an injury all along as he came to the ring to cash in the briefcase and spoil Punk’s moment.

The two main events of SummerSlam were not even the best match of the show. The second item of this month’s Trio goes to the six tag team TLC match which was one of my favourite matches of the year so far.
All six teams put their bodies on the line and had memorable moments. Having 12 wrestlers in the match meant there was never a lull in the action whilst ladders or tables were being set up. Tommaso Ciampa hanging upside down from the bracket holding the titles was an innovative spot but the moment that will live longest in memory was Candice LeRae falling off a ladder and going through another ladder positioned at ringside. It was an incredibly dangerous looking spot sold perfectly by Candice and Johnny Gargano.
The Wyatt Sicks were ultimately victorious as Joe Gacy unhooked the titles and are really gaining momentum in a stacked tag team division on Smackdown.
In a different month, the Wyatt Sicks may have been on the list twice as their entrance at Clash in Paris was incredible. The crowd singing to Shatter as the Fireflies were everywhere in the arena. Knowing the symbolism you couldn’t help but think about Bray Wyatt.

The final spot on this month’s trio, however, goes to the incredible main event of Forbidden Door. The whole show was fantastic to watch in person with lots of great matches and crowd moments.
Two entrances played a big part in the live experience. Firstly, the incredible Will Ospreay video narrated by Alex Windsor and then the crowd pleasing entrance of the Young Bucks as a production ‘error’ saw them come to the ring to MMMBop by Hanson.
The ‘Lights Out’ cage match was brutal with a couple of moments which made me wince, some incredible moves and lots of gummy bears. The face team were victorious in a great send off for Hiroshi Tanahashi’s last match in the UK.
The drama wasn’t over there though as a vicious beat down on Ospreay by the Death Riders is likely to lead to him being out of action for a long time.
