October was a very spooky month full of great wrestling action. It was difficult to pick only three items for this months Trio but the first of those was phenomenal!

John Cena’s retirement tour has really gained momentum since he ditched the heel turn. AJ Styles had one of the best feuds of Cena’s career so the match at Crown Jewel was much anticipated.
The match was an instant classic as Cena and Styles brought out all of the historic using a number of the signature moves of their peers. There was even a tease of a 619!
Cena was ultimately victorious as his retirement match on December 13th is fast approaching. Styles is likely to go on his own retirement tour in 2026, so lets hope he has many more matches the quality of this one.

It appeared Mike Santana’s opportunity to become TNA world champion had disappeared after he lost the triple threat match at Slammiversary in his home state.
Santana didn’t give up though and he earned another title match at Bound for Glory against the champion, NXT’s Trick Williams.
The match took place in front of TNA’s biggest attendance in North America and saw the ascendancy ebb and flow. As it looked like Trick was getting on top, Santana made a comeback and hit the Spin the Block for the emotional victory.
After the match Santana called his daughter into the ring and they celebrated in a heart-warming and special moment.

The final of this month’s Trio comes from AEW’s WrestleDream. One of the best things about the early days of AEW was the emergence of stars from the independent scene who had not had national television exposure.
Jurassic Express were the epitome of this so there was something special seeing Jack Perry and Luchasaurus reunited and facing one of their old foes The Young Bucks. From the first bars of the Express’ entrance theme Jungle Boy, I was invested.
This was faced paced with Meltzer Drivers, a Doomsday Device and lots of near falls. It seemed like the Bucks would win the half a million dollars on offer but the Express pulled out a slightly surprising but popular victory.
