Time is running out in the in-ring career of John Cena and the time is now to include him in November’s Positive Trio. You can see him twice on this month’s three things we loved about wrestling during November.

Monday Night Raw in the TD (Boston) Garden was always going to be an emotional affair with it being Cena’s last appearance in his home state. Events unfolded perfectly to create an emotional and fun moment which played to everything I love about wrestling.

Cena had never won the Intercontinental championship during his illustrious career. Dominik Mysterio played the obnoxious heel who interrupted Cena during his farewell moment.

The match was made and after a strong performance by ‘Dirty’ Dom, Cena was ultimately victorious. A true feel-good moment which added extra intrigue to the final weeks of Cena’s career.

Gail Kim is a true legend of women’s wrestling. She courted controversy on X when she criticised Deathmatch wrestling and shared some other controversial opinions.

When she was announced as appearing at the American Dream Mall of America for GCW it was a surprise. GCW is know as one of the premier territories for Deathmatch wrestling and it was clear there was going to be some kind of angle around this.

Gail came to the ring and grabbed the mic. After re-iterating her views, she was interrupted by one of the faces of GCW, Joey Janela. Joey threatened to get his girlfriend Megan Bayne to shut Gail up. Gail slapped Joey before going onto commentary to call his match against KJ Orso.

Despite Gail’s attempts at interring on behalf of Orso, Joey was victorious but surely this will lead to something further down the line between Gail and Joey.

Home field advantage was switched when ‘Dirty’ Dom received his rematch against Cena in Mysterio’s home town of San Diego at Survivor Series.

Another incredible match with great story telling. Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez accompanied Mysterio to ringside. They both ended up interfering and attacking Cena. Raquel hitting the Tejana Bomb and Roxanne hitting an incredible Pop Rox.

Finn Balor and J D McDonagh also interred before the referee ordered them away from ringside. Back to a true one on one, it appeared Cena had the advantage before the surprise return of Liv Morgan.

Liv stared down Mysterio and slapped him across the face. She then jumped on and embraced Cena before the look in her eyes changed. The intrigue of whose side Liv was on, added to the moment.

Liv hit Cena with a low blow before Mysterio hit the Frog Splash to regain the championship. It was clear from the displays of affection after the match that Liv and ‘Dirty’ Dom are on the same page to wreak havoc as wrestling’s power couple. A truly fantastic story arc and great matches to bookend this months Positive Trio.
