On the October 8th the NXT North American Championship was on the line. It seemed likely that the unstoppable Oba Femi would be victorious continuing his dominant streak.

The size and power difference was certainly in Oba’s favour but the heart was with the challenger Tony D’Angelo. Fired up by Oba’s unacceptable comments towards Adriano Rizzo, Tony had to seek revenge.

The match exceeded expectations as Tony refused to accept defeat. He escaped from a Powerbomb and then rolled through into a pin. After the three count an emotional Tony celebrated in the ring with the Italian flag.

At Halloween Havoc later in October, Oba received his rematch and Tony once again defied the odds to remain the NXT North American champion.

The AEW tag team division really needed a shot in the arm and that was provided as Private Party gained revenge for their defeat WrestleDream to finally defeat The Young Bucks and end their reign.

The title match on Fright Night Dynamite had a special stipulation as if Private Party lost they would have to disband. The match was every bit as exciting as you would expect from these teams with lots of near falls and moments where you thought it was the end of Private Party.

These near falls added to the special moment when Isiah Kassidy and Marq Queen had the biggest moment of their career.

The Hardys are one of the greatest tag teams in history and former members of The Hardy Family Office with Private Party. The Hardys also won tag team gold as they regained the TNA tag titles at Bound for Glory.

Bound for Glory was a great card from top to bottom. The main card started off with an incredible X Division match between Mike Bailey and El Hijo del Vikingo. The highlight of the match saw Vikingo hitting a Canadian Destroyer from the turnbuckle to the ring apron.

Steve Maclin and Josh Alexander had a great feud last year and it was revisited at Bound for Glory but this time with Alexander as the heel. At one point Alexander hit five German suplexes in a row only for Maclin to respond with ten of his own.

If you wanted weapons then the Monster’s Ball delivered as Matt Cardona took a beating from PCO and received a nasty looking gash on his leg.

Masha Slamovich finally ended the long title run of Jordynne Grace to become Knockouts World Champion in a fantastic match.

Joe Hendry had an Eminem inspired entrance but failed to overcome Nic Nemeth in his World Championship match. The intrigue around John Layfield continued as he interfered and clotheslined Hendry, Ryan Nemeth and the referee Frankie Kazarian.

The Hardys victory in Full Metal Mayhem against ABC and The System finished the show. The spot of the whole show was when Brian Myers speared Chris Bey from the top of a ladder as Bey was hanging from the belts. It was a fitting tribute to one of Myers mentors, Edge.
