April is WrestleMania month and it’s not surprise that Las Vegas dominates this month’s Positive Trio. Being in Las Vegas for the week was fantastic even if Vegas is terrible from an expense point of view. From the billboard screens promoting WWE, to WrestleCon, to WWE World, to Mania itself and dozens of independent shows, there was something for everyone.
At WWE World, the highlights were the top rope dive onto a mat attraction, the make your own WrestleMania Vegas Funko and the actions figures exhibit. Both World and WrestleCon had lots of meet and greet/photo options.
Every wrestler we met was a joy to speak to and made the experience memorable. A personal top ten was Ethan Page, Leon Slater, Isla Dawn, Tommaso Ciampa, Gia Miller, Grayson Waller, Michael Oku & Amira Blair, Guilia, Lena Kross & Megan Bayne and Demolition.
WrestleMania itself, had lots of great moments, some frustrations and one of the best main events in WrestleMania history – which is the first of this month’s Trio. Part of what made CM Punk versus Roman Reigns so eagerly anticipated was the uncertainty around who would win. The fan reaction for both was also split leading to an intense atmospere in the stadium.

The entrances of both men were incredible, in particular Punk using his old Ring of Honor entrance theme Miseria Cantare. The match started as a brawl with both competitors trading blows.
Reigns should have been disqualified for hitting Punk with the ring steps but the referee showed leniency. A bloodied Punk got some revenge later by elbow dropping Reigns through the announce table
The match had escapes from submissions and kick outs from finishers before Reigns hit two Spears for the win. A truly dramatic and memorable main event.

Earlier in night two was a match which is the second of this month’s Trio. The Intercontinental champions was on the line in a ladder match as Penta defended against Dragon Lee, Rusev, JD McDonagh, Je’Von Evans and Rey Mysterio.
This match almost guaranteed fast paced jaw dropping action and it delivered. What was great, was each competitor having their own special moment. The one that stood out in particular was Evans hitting an OG Cutter on Rusev who was standing near the top of a ladder.
The finish came when Penta hit Evans with a Mexican Destroyer before claims the ladder to grab the title.
WWE wasn’t the only show in town and yet again the Collective shows at the Horseshoe. The highlight of these was Joey Janela’s Spring Break X, and this show is the final of this month’s Trio.

The show had so many incredible moments. The first match was a Grab the Brass Ring match involving 11 competitors which saw the ropes break but the action continue. Shotzi has memorable moments on top of the ladder with Man Like DeReiss and Vipress. 1 Called Manders was eventually victorious to claim a future championship opportunity.
There was representation from AEW as The Rascalz defeated Marcus Mathers, Alec Price and Jordan Oliver in a high flying, fast paced match. Jack Perry reunited with Marko Stunt to defeat KJ Orso and Sam Stackhouse. Megan Bayne introduced Nick Gage as her mystery partner to gain the victory over Mance Warner and Steph De Lander.

Elsewhere on the card, Atticus Cogar defended the GCW title against Hayabusa. Effy defeated Allie Katch in an emotional and violent loser leaves GCW match. The main event saw Joey Janela getting upset by the fourteen year old Brodie Lee Jr. in a match which illustrates Brodie’s tremendous potential.
My favourite match of the card saw The Sandman’s last match where he faced The Invisible Man. Invisible Man matches are fantastic when done infrequently and this was one of the best.
Invisible Man was accompanied to the ring by legendary ECW manager Bill Alfonso. Sandman came out to his iconic entrance accompanied by his manager for the night Kendra Lust.

The things Sandman is most remembered for were incorporated into the match. Invisible Man knocked a beer out of Sandman’s hand at the start of the match. The Singapore Cane was used.
Kendra turned on Sandman which brought out Missy Hyatt to even the odds. Other interference followed to help Invisible Man get on top, before Mick Foley came to the ring to help Sandman.
Foley received a huge pop but his help was eventually in vain as Invisible Man ended up victorious. Sandman received an amazing ovation as the crowd showed appreciation for the end of the career of an ECW legend.
Spring Break seems to get better every year and the tenth outing was a must see show.
