This has been the most difficult Positive Trio selection of the year so far. A month which started with SummerSlam, had the finals of the G1, and ended with All In. There were so many other great moments in between.

The first of this month’s Trio is the new WWE Women’s champion Chelsea Green.

After Rhea Ripley’s injury, a new interim champion was crowned at SummerSlam in a ladder match. Going into the match Chelsea seemed the outsider with former world champions Charlotte Flair, Jade Cargill and Tiffany Stratton also in the match along with the powerful Lash Legend.

Part way through the match Chelsea teased climbing the ladder to a tremendous roar of excitement from the crowd. It wasn’t to be, but the tease played into the latter part of the match as Chelsea was hanging upside down from the ladder as the other competitors were down on the floor.

The pop as Chelsea sprung upright and climbed the ladder was incredible. A true feelgood moment.

Chelsea was unfortunately injured in a tag team match with Fatal Influence on the following Smackdown. This led to a segment the following week which was one of highlights of Chelsea’s career.

The General Manager Nick Aldis teased that she would have to relinquish the title due to her orbital bone injury. Chelsea delivered an incredible promo which tugged at the heartstrings leading to Nick having a change of heart and giving her 30 days to recover and defend the title.

Shockingly Gunther then comes to the ring to berate Chelsea. It appeared he might attack her which led to her husband Matt Cardona coming to the ring to confront Gunther.

The real life relationship between Chelsea and Matt really played into the drama of the moment. Matt and Gunther then had really good match which Gunther won as Chelsea looked on.

The second of this month’s Trio took place at TNA Lockdown. Jason Hotch had won the International title last month from Mustafa Ali in an incredible match. Ali got his rematch in his hometown of Chicago at Lockdown in a cage match. This match was even better than first one between them.

One of the highlights was a crossbody from Hotch from top of cage to the outside of ring which put Ali through table. It was one of those rare spots that shocked me as the momentum Hotch got doing the move was scary.

Whilst Hotch was being helped up, Ali took a toy dinosaur from Hotch’s young daughter at ringside. Ali was about to destroy it with a lighter handed to him by Mila Moore but Hotch stormed back into ring to stop him.

Later in the match, Hotch hit a double stomp from top of cage to Ali inside ring. Ali recovered hitting a 450 splash for a two count. Another 450 from Ali helped him regain the title whilst Hotch clutched his daughters toy dinosaur in his hand.

John Skyler helped his tag team partner Hotch out of ring and in an emotional moment he handed the toy dinosaur back to his daughter who was being held in the arms of his wife.

The final of this month’s Trio is Will Ospreay who had an incredible All In weekend and also won his first world title. It started with Will producing the Pro Wrestling Eve show on the Friday night where he picked thumb tacks up from the ring after a match.

On the following night, he made a surprise appearance at RevPro’s biggest show ever in the OVO Arena at Wembley. I had expected Will to be at the show watching and possibly making an appearance, but I didn’t expect him to wrestle a night before the biggest match of his career.

CPF were in an eight man tag team match against Will Kaven, Trew, Lacey and RKJ. Sha Samuels came down to the ring at the start of the match to announce that his suspension had been lifted and this would now be a ten man tag match, except that CPF had no friends.

The possibility of Will appearing then crossed my mind briefly due to his friendship with CPF member Callum Newman. When Will’s music hit, it led to the loudest pop of the night as Will helped his team to the victory.

It was then onto the main event of All In at Wembley Stadium. The pre match promotional video narrated by Will’s mum Sue is one of the greatest of all time. We then saw Will walk past important wrestlers from his past on the way to the ring. Zack Sabre Jr., Michael Oku, Amira Blair, Ricochet, Swerve, Aussie Open, Alex Windsor and Jon Moxley were all passed by Will as he was accompanied by Newman, Henare and Francisco Akira from United Empire.

As expected, the match with Kenny Omega was a classic. The passionate crowd helped enhance the match, and whilst there were some Omega supporters, the large majority wanted a victory for Will.

There was drama early in the match as Will was busted open as he was put into a table. Omega was on top for a large period of the match and eventually hit a One Winged Angel which will kicked out of at two. This was an important moment of the match, as other than Kota Ibushi, no-one else has ever kicked out of Omega’s finisher.

Will made a comeback at hit a One Winged Angel of his own but Omega kicked out at one. Will then hit a Stormbreaker but again could only get a one count. Finally Will hit the Hidden Blade to get the three count for an emotional victory in his home country.

A touching moment at the end of the match saw Will and Omega embrace. An incredible moment to end an incredible show in an incredible month.
